Selling car

    i bought an english reg car ,paid the vrt ,but i am wondering can i sell the car in ireland i only have it 6 months but my wife is pregnant and wants a bigger car then this 2 door ?

    As long as the VRT is paid and you are the registered owner ,have the log book etc then as far as I know yes of course you can sell it on..

    I think their might be something in relation to selling a new imported car but I don't think it relates to a used private vehicle. I imported a car early this year and paid VRT/tax and everything as far as I know if I wanted to sell it now that's my business, so I'd say fire away.

    Congrats on the baby, condolences on the car. I had to give up my bike when my little fella came along, but you'll find a happy medium car!

    The restrictions are only for a car brought in that's exempt because you've owed it abroad . Once vrt is paid it's the same as a car that's been here its whole life.
