Psu for crossfire

    At the moment I have a Super-Flower Amazon 80Plus 550W
    and i am looking to crossfire two gigabyte 7970 and for the life of me i find out what psu i will need to power these
    i take it i need around a 850w??

    I would be aiming for this to Crossfire them.

    You could technically get away with a 700 if using Intel CPU. But I wouldn't be so tight. Sell your 550 make back some of the cost.

    That would fail on most modern titles for sure. Would recommend a 650w+ for that. I have run crossfire on 550w, 7770 and 7850, just about scraped it.

    Upgrade to at least a 700w seeing as you need a new PSU anyway.

    750 W modular. Decent enough brand.
