I'm an incoming first year that will be starting Aeronautical Engineering in September and I was pooching about on the UL website and I came across the fees table. I noticed that the fees for students who are in elgible for the free fees initiative but not in reciept of the grant and are studying engineering, science or education will have to pay 5,500 in Student Contribution fees.

Is this correct? I always thought it was 2500 for everyone?

Just want some clarification on this.

Where'd you see that? The charge next year is 2750. If in receipt of a grant you pay 0.

If you are not eligible for free fees you pay the the relevant fee from the above document.

It's listed here. I'm eligible for the free fees, not the SUSI grant.

Take a closer look at it- the HEA pays 3058, the student pays the "registration fee" of 2500 to make it 5000+.

As already mentioned the registration fee will be 2750 next year.

    It's a typo. 4762+2500+72=7334 :)

So I only pay 2500 and the HEA pays the rest?

As far as I know, you never have to pay that much money unless you need to repeat.

It is always just 2500 or something along those lines. Those with grants pay nothing.

I wouldn't bother looking at the course fees because when you get your offer in UL they will make sure to send you mail and e-mails to tell you how much you owe them.

I just wanted to know how much did I need for paying the fees as my parents are paying the registration fees and I'm paying the accommodation. Just didn't want to give my parent a heart attack...
