steel beam size

    Putting universal steel beam into the back of a domestic two storey .dwelling.It will be over the kitchen window and door with
    a view to extending in the future.It will be a 4.9m span.with 3 piers above holding the wallplate for the roof.The first floor joists
    from the back bedroom and back bathroom
    will also run into the web of the new beam .
    I sized it at 205×205 ×12mm for a 4.9m ope
    Any advice

    we can't offer structural advice. Have a read of the forum charter.
    My advice would be have a structural eng spec and sign off on its install
