Now that Yaya and Hazard are out of the picture (even temporarily) it will leave many people wondering who to replace them with. Mata is an obvious choice with the 'easy' DGW coming up for United, but what other options are there for people who are running short of MF options? For me it looks like it will come down to either Lallana or Eriksen. A few stats on each below:
    2edxtn6.png

    Lallana
    Price: £8m
    Points: 167
    Goals: 9
    Assists: 9
    Bonus Points: 20
    Minutes played: 2,782
    Points per minute: 0.06
    Form: 6.2
Remaining fixtures: Villa (A), Everton (H), Swansea (A), United (H)

    Eriksen
    Price: £6.8m
    Points: 113
    Goals: 7
    Assists: 7
    Bonus Points: 17
    Minutes played: 1,622
    Points per minute: 0.07
    Form: 9.2
Remaining fixtures: Fulham (H), Stoke (A), West Ham (A), Villa (H)

Both should be guaranteed to play 360 mins, or the vast majority of them. The price is almost negligible for most as Hazard and Yaya will leave the coffers overflowing. I'll still have £9m in the bank after making my transfers! Neither team have a huge amount to play for, although Sherwood will likely want to finish the season strongly. Spurs definitely have the easier run too. . I was leaning in favour of Lallana but when you look at it on the ratio of games played Eriksen beats him on every single stat above AND has an easier run in. It's hard to shake that quote from Eriksen though where he said the Southampton game was the first competitive game where he scored 2 goals in the same match. Ever! He's on a blistering run of form, but is this just a rare hot streak? There's always the option of taking a hit or two and getting both in. And the option of going with someone else entirely. Gerrard will be more pumped up than at any other stage in his career, he'll be playing out of his skin for the next 4 games. Bit with the vast majority of his goals coming from pens, is he reliable?

Interesting to see the results of this, there's not many key decisions left this season and I think this could be one of them.

Eriksen. But I'll be having both.

Those stats, fixtures and current form would suggest that this is not a fair fight.

I don't think it's even close to be honest. Eriksen has much better form and fixtures. Fancy him to outscore Lallana between now and the end of the season.

Is like to think my midfield will be Mata - Eriksen - Silva - Nasri for GW37

To be honest when I was was writing the post I was in favour of Lallana. That changed by the time I created the poll. Didn;t realise Eriksen's stats were as good as they were.

Have both but considering moving Lallana on before GW37. Possibly for Salah.

Well I have Eriksen and I don't have Lallana, nor was I planning on getting him back so my vote goes to Eriksen.

I know I'm almost the sole lunatic not having Yaya but I think it's great for the game that he's out (I hope he makes the world cup). It forces people to make decisions instead of coasting to the end of the season like they have for a long, long period of this season. I don't mean to sound bitter about him, for once :pac:

I'd like to throw Coutinho into the mix, especially with Henderson and perhaps Studge out. His goal will attract some people after yesterday but he's had a tidy-ish return the past 5 weeks 8-2-9-1-10. Somebody like Salah is a risk but he could even be a cheap 5th mid with funds being less of an issue.

If nothing else it'll add some extra spice to the end of season with some of the popular players missing out.

I'd love Gerrard or Coutinho but already have Skrtel, Suarez and Sturridge. If the latter is injured I might look at another Liverpool player, they will be more fired up than any other team. Sterling should also be in the mix.

Have Eriksen and have done for way too long, but wouldnt really consider Lallana anyway, would be afraid Southampton are just gonna coast to the end of the season ala Swansea last year

I reckon I will finish the season with a midfield of Silva Lallana Eriksen Mata.

Eriksen in for Yaya this week and then Mata in for Mirallas/Nolan.

I had this dilemma last week and went for Eriksen for the differential. So far its working out.

Thinking both will be an option.

Yaya >> Eriksen this week, then may go Gerrard to Mata for last few gameweeks.
