    The 43k apparently is equivalent to 5*48*5*2 single fares - every working day of a year, single each way; plus costs. Would have been less than half the price to keep buying his season ticket.

    Looks like he didn't get away with it fully - he's been named (Jonathan Burrows) and resigned from his job.
