Fleshy bones from butcher are free and keeps the bird busy stripping it! Only downfall is that you have to remove the bones to keep the trap and bird clean!

You could always shoot a rabbit or two, and cut the meat off the bone and keep it in the fridge!

I use the big tins of dog food from the euro discount shops or pound shops or whatever. Got 12 big cans for €10. 1 can is lasting about 4 or 5 days per bird ! Cant go wrong with that. They get all the craps outa the house too

Poultry food, pellet type, 25kg bag about 10€, nutritious and cheap.

I use the same. Considering we have around 30 ducks on the farm, layers pellets are going to be there anyway. Its €11 a 25kg bag near me.

In case it might benefit someone, used cream crackers for the first time in the side trapping compartments of the magpie cage. Had 2 magpies this morning. Just a tip for people ;)
