im currently taking part in a club league race (my first races might i add). they take place in the evenings after work and im just wondering if there anything i should particular focus on nutrition wise?
in my job ive a fixed lunch hour, 1pm, and races start at 7pm. so should i maybe have a pre race meal? or use gels, bars etc during the races?
    races are 30-45 km ish

    No need for anything imo.

If it's less than an hour I sometimes don't even bother with a sip of water (particularly given climate) - height of summer may be a bit different, but usually I can take enough hydration on pre-race. Certainly don't bother with specific food/nutrition products
