    Hi there!
I'm having a bit of trouble with a Baxi has boiler. It's bringing up a fault. It's turning on for 5 seconds then turning off again. The gas has a top up metre but it says it's topped up. I have turned off the gas and restarted but still nothing. Help would be much appreciated since it's freezing tonight!

It seems to me to be an issue from inside the boiler causing it to shut down.
You will need to call out a Registered Gas Installer you will identify the cause of the problem and inform you of the cost to rectify it as its illegal for anyone else to carry out works on the inside of a gas boiler.

Flame falure... After you topped up the Meyer did you reset the regulator? If you face the Meyer the reg is top left and you should see a plastics lever or botton try pressing to reset 'gentelly'

Op I would get a RGI to call(as mentioned), if you find it is meter related he should test the line to prove its safe before turning the gas back on, after that I would try to keep the meter topped up to prevent similar headaches down the road.

The little lever/button on the regulator is a safety device to help protect against gas leaks, if this triggers its very easy to assume it's triggered for any other reason than a gas leak(and most times it triggers I'm sure it's not leak related). The only way to be 100% sure it's not a gas leak is with a soundness test carried out by a RGI.

Personally I don't advise householders resetting that lever(it becomes habit forming and risks can be ignored), I don't know if there's a leak without testing and I'm not happy householders tuning on something with a pretentual risk. Paranoia is a beautiful thing.
