There seems to be a change in the current freight timetable as of last week. Does anyone know what the new timetable is regarding Timber, DFDS and IWT trains?

The CPW DFDS liner ran to Ballina on Friday instead of the usual Thursday with a timber train running instead. The LX DFDS liner has been in Waterford before Friday which is when it usually heads to Waterford for the weekend. A laden timber train also ran on Saturday with the usual empty timber train not running or being present in Waterford that morning to run for that matter. Strange enough. Maybe IÉ are freeing up slots?

Possibly or it could the be a one off for extra capacity to meet a certain sailing.

The schedule has changed recently. The DFDS and Timber now work against each other, compared to recent practice. Plus instead of a ety timber on Saturday there is now a laden timber ex the West of Ireland.

Today, Bank Holiday Monday, a laden and empty timber operated. Unladen was in Kildare around 1400 and the laden around 15:30.

Now that the DFDS liners are running each way on Tuesdays and Fridays two locos will be needed. I am guessing it will be the loco that hauls the DFDS LX wagon rake on the extra IWT liners on Wednesdays and Thursdays that will haul the LX DFDS liner. Will this mean that more 201s will end up pulling the DFDS train as 201s are more prominent on the IWT liners?

This didn't last to long, they have dropped the LX wagons recently, the IWT liner extra capacity appears to be the problem. When the schedule changes took place loads almost vanished and at times they can't manage to fully fill 12 CPW, once a week which is worrying.

Nothing to do with IE fleet availability, DFDS lost traffic to IWT. Swings and Roundabouts.

What exactly do DFDS carry from Belview? I've seen it running through Waterford on Saturday mornings before.

Didn't intend to employ IE were at fault as I agree they are not.

Adding the extra IWT was more less at the expense of this so no net gain in capacity so does IWT deal with more companies to justify the increase as DFDS wouldn't be to bothered which port it goes to as its the same ship which is probably why they took some spaces to cut costs.
