Opinion, black or white car?

Hi all,

want your professional, honest opinion!

which out of these two cars do you prefer?

In this case, black.

Too many white focus vans out there for a white focus to be cool.

On some cars fair enough, but on a sausage+chips focus it just looks cheap.

White cars are quite popular in China and I have seen a few rich Chinese with white Mercs and Audis in Dublin. A white E200 is surprisingly nice.

Depends on the car. Seen one of these today. Looked nice with the white broken up. The black car above looks better though.

What if i were to say the white car has parking sensors, built in satnav, handsfree phone, auto lights, auto wipers, a year newer, 20k less miles and for same price!

Well I'd say the black one is over priced, and all for the wheels. But it does look a lot better!

Its got a lip kit too, and black headlights. What's the story with the black headlights, are they only on some specs

the white one to tax is £47 a year !

If the Alloys on the black were swapped to the white, then it would be perfect!!!

I just can't get past the whole white thing. I guess I grew up when white was the poor man's option and otherwise only found on dirty vans. So I will always associate a white car with dirty and cheap.

I'd have to agree with most on this. The black looks a lot better.

When I look at the white one I just expect to see a guy covered in plaster and paint sitting in the drivers seat.

Are they 1.6tdci ? On the colour the black is nicer. But I would take the white if it was better spec and a better all round car. You seem to like either op so if that's the case go with the better spec. Colour is generally the last thing I worry about when picking a car provided it's not some mad colour spec and overall condition is more important to me.

Oh God black all the way! White just looks plain gammy on any lower spec cars imo. Not sure if white would even look right on an ST, RS or Titanium.

Yes i am literally split 50/50, love the zetec s with the sports pack but then again i love the white.

The white one is a 1.6 TDCI, its quite nippy actually, the black being a 1.8 straight petrol, i find quite laggy for a 1.8, there quite heavy cars though!

The white is better spec model and newer with 20k less miles.

i can't decide at all!!

I'd prefer a white car to a black car. The car I currently have is black though.


Out of those two though, the black just looks way nicer.

Between the two of them the black one is a lot nicer.

In saying that a black car is a pain in the backside to keep looking well. Stone chips, swirls, scratches all show. I've had both and white is extremely easy to keep and rarely shows anything. But the black focus in this case is a lot nicer to look at.

I don't like the Mk 2 Focus in black at all - and the Privacy glass on the back windows on the black one doesn't float my boat at all

lady in the parish here has an 09 3 door focus CAR (not a van) in white and I think it looks nicer then the black tbh.

I like both black and white cars, but on certain cars, some colours can look better than others. On the focus, the black is far nicer.
