Tesco's probably I think it's 13.69 or something close to that for a 70 cl.

Lidl rachmaninoff red label is 12.99 for a 70cl, think tesco value is the same.

Tesco white rum is €11.69 and is actually alright.

Tesco value vodka is actually made from molasses so more like a purified rum.

Water is pretty cheap vodka substitute without any of the nasty side effects you seem to want to avoid!

What are you doing? there are other solvents which might work better, and be cheaper as there will be no duty on them.
