switch on the ignition, then scroll through the
trip computers displayed options until the "mileage before
next service" is displayed, (accompanied by a spanner
symbol). Now press and hold one of the reset buttons on
the end of the wiper stalk for about 10 seconds until the
display resets to the correct mileage, ie 18000.

Just to add. When it starts flashing the New service interval, keep it held until it stops flashing.

Jumping in a little here. Tried this on the wifes Clio and it worked a treat. Saying that it was saying service due.

If its the one I think it is you push the trip reset with the ignition off then turn the ignition on with the button still depressed. There will be a countdown on the display to zero and the service light will be reset

Is it the service light on the cluster itself not where the milage is displayed.
If it is have you any other lights on the dash like engine managment or handbrake light staying on ??

its in the cluster in between the clocks, isnt on all the time, comes n goes ..thats only light that comes on

Is it the light in the middle of the cluster. It just reads serv. If so its not actually a service light and you may need to get a diagnostic done on it.

That isnt a service light that usually comes on with another light to indicate a fault somewhere as i said in a post above.
you need to get a proper diagnostic check done.
