Job Seekers Allowance Rates

    Hi All!
I recently applied for Job Seekers Allowance and received the maximum personal rate of €188 which was great news to get. The problem is I'm only 23 and thought that the maximum I could receive was €100. Is there any reason why they would give me the full amount or is this a mistake on their part? And if so what do you recommend I do?
Any help would be greatly appreciated! :)

Maybe it was benefit you got, were you working before you claimed?

If you don't want the other €88 I'll take it, that way you won't feel guilty and everybody's happy. And no, you don't need to thank me.

I'd double check with your local office ,
Even if they have made a mistake you will be liable to pay any over payments back ,
    Tread carefully

If you are on jsa and if your claim linked to a previous jsa claim i.e. within 12 months then if you were on €188 on previous claim then you would be put on €188. If its jsb then €188 is the rate you will be on until you claim exhausts.
