Nissan Primera -V- Peugeot 407

    All opinions for and against on both please,the primera is a 1.6,the 407 is a 1.8 both petrol

    If I was stuck with no other choice beyond those two then the 407. The 1.8 litre petrol is reliable enough but not very frugal, however 407s suffer from patchy electrical issues and it's predecessor the 406, was a way better car to drive. Last model Primera wasn't a great car to be honest, they were designed during the era when Renault starting having an influence on Nissans. Window regulators give terrible grief in them and the gearboxes are known to give problems too.

    If it were me I'd look at a Mazda 6, Honda Accord or Ford Mondeo instead.

    do you rate the 1.8 407's as good so???i'm very keen on the one I seen today,the fact its 1.8 is a bit alarming but apparently they have similar fuel economy to the 1.6 primera which I find interesting,had a Peugeot 206 years ago,only trouble it gave was balljoints,which required a whole wishbone to solve the problem.those primera's are supposed to be a dog to sell on :confused:

    the mazda 6 are also only in 1.8 upwards aren't they?are they good on petrol for their size???the Peugeot 407 opinion is divided though from what I've read on boards
