avb passat problem

    My neibour has a 04 passat avb diesel,, with an engine management light on. So gh took it to a guy, he had the laptop hooked up, and said it was the lambda sensor. So i went in to gsf, to get a sensor, and they told me there is no lambda on dat model, damnit!
    Anyone experience this problem

    Also the volume on the radio wont adjust. Is there any reset that can be done

    What error code did he find? Within the OBD standards, some codes have different meanings depending on whether the engine is petrol or diesel. Unless this guy was running a smart enough scantool it's a trap he could have fallen into.

    I dont know what code came up, he was just told the sensor was gone. I dont have any other info im afraid. The light is intermittant.
