    Hi
My aunt's sony digital tv has totally lost rte 1 since the switch to hd. I tuned all her channels to pick up saorview last year and tried this again the other day but it's just not picking it up. Any tips? She says there was a warning that it needed to be tuned in for a few weeks on her screen but technology's a bit beyond her so she just ignored it!

I too lost it, ran several auto scans and it still did not pick it up. Then I, "just for pig iron" ran a manual scan and low and behold .there it was !

Worth a try... have no idea why the several auto scans failed to pick it up and the first manual one did.

I had to do a factory reset to get it. Just doing auto-tune didn't pick it up.

The aerial setup is the most likely cause, not good enough for the 2 muxes.

What is her aerial setup, indoor/outdoor/attic?

Yeah have come to the conclusion that it's the aerial because her one is like something from the 70s! It's an indoor one.

An outdoor aerial is recommended for Saorview reception although some areas can get away with an indoor aerial if the Saorview signal is strong enough indoors.

Find the recommended transmitter for her location here - http://www.saorview.ie/get-saorview/make-the-switch/coverage-map/

    I too tried a factory reset...and worked a treat.

Tried the manual reset- no improvement. Freeview programs ok but lost Rte programs altogether. How do I do a 'Factory Reset'? Saorview hopeless in both Tyrone (just over the border from Donegal) and Derry. I'd love to try a factory reset.

A better aerial might help more.

My aerial man has put up a new aerial a few months ago and says that it's correct. After an auto retune I've now got all the Rte stations except Rte1. Problem only seems to have started since they went HD although Rte2 which is also HD, is fine.

Guys this is the satellite forum. Saorview discussions are over in Terrestrial threads.
Could a mod please move this.

Did you PM a mod, or report one of the posts in this thread? Might be a chance of something actually happening then.

I'm sure a mod reading this thread will realise it's not appropriate for this forum, before they get to your exortation to have it moved.

Yes I have reported it. There would be no point in having separate forums if guys were to keep posting up about terrestrial in the satellite forums and visa versa. It has become a lot more frequent since the introduction of Combiboxes.

Its a few weeks old now really and has run its course I think, but if the OP still has a problem they are welcome to post in Terrestrial
