Huawei Ascend P2 4G

I recently purchased the Huawei Ascend P2 phone as I had heard it was 4G/LTE. When I contacted three to ask how to access 4G, I was told that my phone had to be Jelly bean (4.3). My phone is 4.1.2. Any idea how I can upgrade? Been scratching my head trying to figure it out. It shouldn't be this difficult, surely!
