I've had this happen a couple of times now, I leave a PAYG phone switched off for a few months and the numbers deleted/credits gone when I get back to it. Anyone know of a network that won't cut you off for a long time?

    None. They all do that.

Why do Keep putting credit on a phone and not use it?

I have a few sims with no credit but I ring them now and then and its seems to keep them alive.

you do know that companies are in business to make money. Providing a service for free is a quick way for the Telcos to go bust

It's not really about the credit. It's I can't bring myself to keep a phone pluged in I'm not useing :)

That's good advice though. I'll do that.

Generally you have to make a call or text, perhaps even a chargeable one every 6 months, maybe less to keep a sim active.
    Being powered on isn't enough.
