    Hi Diy People,

Does anyone have any Idea How I can fix the attached, It is a 5 point locking door but the handle doesn't stay up so when you close the door it just bounces back. At present you have to close the door and lift the handle all the way up to lock it in a closed position.

    Thanks

There is a piece of square steel bar connecting the 2 handles together, it may have slipped through use. Take off a handle and see if that is the case, if so, slide it out and back into the correct position..

I'd say that your problem is with the lock itself. You'll need to take off the handles first. 2 screws on the inside handle of the door which are long enough to hold the outer handle in place. If you don't see anything obvious after removing these, you will need to remove the actual euro cylinder ( the part the key goes into ), then you will have to remove the screws on the locking mechanism of the door. Probably 6 or 7 to take out, along the full length of the doors edge, then the complete lock and bar will come away as one piece. You can then investigate further.

I've just done a quick search on UT for an informational vid that might explain it better:

From what I can see the springs in your lock gearbox are gone tired and weak....this is just an aging problem, because of this the handles, which have no spring built-in will not come back to the correct horizontal park position, and they appear drooping down as in your picture if you want everything back as good as new you have to replace the multi-point lock which is not a very big job, and much more cost effective if you do it yourself follow the advice above when doing so. pm me if you wish for more advice
there is no law yet to stop you changing your own door lock and you don't have to tell your house insurance company either
