    Good morning!
Basically himself has tasked me with ringing all the ads he stared on Done Deal as i'm off today!
I'm not comfortable as they tell me details and i'm thinking What colour is it! Typical woman. So wondering what questions to ask ? service history, mileage, and big dents are the obvious but what else our search is narrowed to
2008/2009 320D or 520D Msport Spec either IRL OR NI/UK plates which is an upgrade to his old 2002 model & replacing my Toyota!
Ive googled iDrive, run flat tyres, Dakota roof !

(Oh and if its UK plates what should i ask apart from is it clocked and sounding rude !)

    Thank you in advance,
    Simone

Your best bet is to do a car check, once you've narrowed the field down, especially if it's a UK car. This will tell you if it's been clocked.

As for phoning, just ask them to tell you about the car, let them do the talking...90% of the time you'll know as much as them!

In all honesty a seller is not going to tell you the truth about their car being clocked if you ask them. And it's not just a question you ask because the car is from the UK or NI. Plenty of chancers here selling Irish clocked cars too but certain quarters of the motor trade here with a vested interest drilled it into people's heads not so long ago that it is UK cars that are only clocked.

Also if you are looking at BMW 2.0 litre diesels from late 2007 onwards, you might want to do some basic research on the timing chain problems that these engines have. It's a right eye opener.

Being honest if you and your boyfriend are clueless about cars then it might be advised to stick with buying from a reputable dealer where you have less chance of buying something dodgy and at least they will stand over it in the event of an issue.
