    Hi lads

Heading over to the alpe dheuz in july

The week we are heading over, there is hardly any bikes left for hire

My own bike is a size 54, One shop has a 55 frame for hire, if I was to hire that bike would it be very uncomfortable

We are doing the Marmotte Route so will be a long day on the bike

Why not take your own bike with you?

I made the mistake of hiring a bike on the first cycling holiday I went on. Bike was much nicer than mine and had my own saddle and pedals on, but was set up all wrong for me and I couldn't change it. Very uncomfortable and couldn't descend on the drops as the reach on the bars was way too big for my hands.

I'm pretty small, so more likely to have issues with bars etc, but based on my own experience, wouldn't fancy doing something like the Marmotte on a hire bike.
