I have a cheaper solution for you: rather than paying for multiple grinds you can purchase Andy Field's excellent book Discovering Statistics through SPSS. I have had numerous books on SPSS and statistics over the years but this book is my bible . It works through examples slowly and clearly and uses the SPSS outputs to help explain the statistics. There are lots of screenshots and every single step is shown in detail. From my point of view, it is foolproof!

+1 fantastic book which has got me out of a few sticky situations in terms of data analysis over the years. I have about 4 books on spss in my possession as well as having read numerous online guides and library books - Field trumps them all!
