Glasgow University - Health Insurance Question

    Hi all,

I will be moving to Glasgow in August to begin a PGDE. I am doing some research into what kind of Health Insurance I will need. I am currently working outside the EU and have private insurance through work.

Are doctor visits free for enrolled students in Scotland?
Do I need to take out private health insurance for the duration of my course?
    Any tips/recommendations?

    Thanks in advance!

Moved to NI & GB Colleges

As a student resident you'll be entitled to use of NHS services much like a permanent resident so GP visits will be free. There's no real need for private health insurance in the UK if you're a student. There's more information here.
