MOndeo Clocks Flickering

I've a 2009 MOndeo I bought a year ago... the clocks have always given a bit of trouble. They flicker when I'm driver... all lights go on/off intermittently. Some Days I don't notice it & other days it's like a disco. And when it's acting up the digital readings are wrong... speed/mpg/fuel. So it's annoying!

My bro is a 2nd year apprentice & he wants to take the clocks out & clean the contacts & see if it's a lose wire... should I let him at it? or could it be a bigger problem?

    Thanks

Once he's confident that he can do the job it should be fine. Ive had a similar situation with an older mondeo and it turned out to be the switch that dims the dash lights. I took it out and cleaned it with some contact cleaner and it worked fine.
