Child benefit-never received social services card

    I got a letter from the child benefit dept to say that my claim had been approved and that payment could be collected with my current social services card and if I didn't have one, one would be sent out in the next 7 working days. However, that was 2 weeks ago and there's still no sign of the card arriving :( Who do I contact regarding this? have they done away completely with the old children's allowance books?

    Go into your local social welfare office with photo id and ask them to send you your social welfare services card.

    Yes, they've completely done away with the books.

    Go in to your local SWO and ask for a card, they'll give you a temporary yellow card to collect from the post office until the normal one arrives.

    Thanks guys :) I'm kinda sad about the book, I used to love seeing it being brought out as a child cos it usually meant a trip into town to have new clothes bought :) Ah well.....
