2001 Seat Toledo Crash Sensor Code

    Father in laws car showing the codes as in attached pictures.

    The crash sensors have been replaced, fault codes erased but light comes back on again straight away.

    Anyone got any ideas or pointers as to what the next step should be.

    I'd take a close look at the wiring based on that - short is probably short to ground. A scan with a VAG specific scan tool may give you more information too. Why were the sensors replaced in the first place?

    Sensors were v replaced to try to b eradicate the problem

    Was the car crashed and repaired?

    no. There was no crash or any repairs done prior to the light coming on.

    Two separate circuits short to ground or live. Check all fuses first. Suspect RCM Restraint control module or wiring. If both sensors have separate circuits it could be the RCM playing up.
    If someone can upload a wiring diagram and I could have a look.

    Progress report:

    ABS control module was tested by someone Who's into airbag systems supposedly. I didn't bring it to him,someone else did. He said it was fine.

    I checked the wiring to each sensor from control module to socket at sensor. All are continuous with no breaks. Checked with a meter. The ground wire is connected to ground and the other is not shorting to ground.

    Tried scanning with the sensors removed and no new codes showed up.....!!!!!!

    Does anyone know if the sensors can be checked with multi meter ie. measuring resistance. Both are reading the same resistance and two second hand on es got in scrapyard have c the same resistance as the two original on es.

    I'm working on getting a wiring diagram. Should have it tomorrow maybe

    Any help appreciated.

    Job done.

    Turns out that the so called specialist that tested the control module didn't know what he was at. Got a module and two sensors out of an off the road car and all is now good.
