Depends on what I'm wearing. Wouldn't want anything to clash!:)

The red & white because they are the original Irish setter

Edit: just read the other thread but I stick by my choice.

if I was buying a red setter I would buy a solid red coloured setter if I wanted a red and white dog than I would go and buy a pure bred red and white setter which are also a beautiful dog but if you want a red setter buy a RED setter.

It's only possible if it were part of the red and white outcross programme. Then you would be gettting a red and white 1st generation outcross pup which ever one you went for. Either that or you would be getting un registered cross breed

Don't like the breed in general I find them soft but if they identical in every way then I'd pic the red and white

The red and white setters have a very small gene pool so there is a ikc outcross programme underway to cross them to red setters .
Pups can be born red or red and white. Pups born red are registered as red and white outcross and bred to another red and white will produce all red and white pups. Pups born red and white from original mating are registered red and white. It's hoped to improve the breed and give it enough genetic diversity to ensure its future

this bull about all red dogs what a load of bull, look back years at the old photos most of the trial winning reds have white on chest, head, paws and end of tail, most of the all red dogs I have seen were show dogs,my father and me have had red setters for years me 35years and him 30 before me so 65 years of reds I think I have an idea what I am talking about, look if the parents are good workers it does not matter what colour the dog is.are you after looks or working abilty.

if I have two setters from the same litter proven parents ect one is a solid red dog the other is red with white I choose the solid red dog and the darker the better its just a personal choice

    Depends what you want.
