Brenda Power versus Pavee Point

Its extremely rare that I tune into Joe Duffy, but there was a great debate to day between Brenda Power and Martin Collins from Pavee Point regarding traveler violence, which I think she won hands down.

Its high time someone took on Pavee Point and the PC rubbish they spout. There is a disproportionate amount of savage violence and crime committed by the traveler groups (what is now in Ireland a very small minority compared to Polish etc). It's time that the traveler representatives started dealing with the issue rather than playing the 'poor me' tune. Well done Brenda

Brenda Power is a nasty piece of work and an excuse of a journalist, I haven't even read the article to need to know that. I'm not sure I'd take what she says in any high regard, although it's good that a debate is now ongoing, because there are obviously issues in communities.

Any journalist that needs to be 'controversial' (read - abrasive tabloid fodder) to stay relevant, can't be doing that well.

I know nothing of her background, but if it takes abrasive tabloid fodder to stir debate that other real journalists seem very quiet on, that's ok by me. There has been a traveler problem for decades. We all know this, but if anyone says beep, its off to the equality authority. This is bullsh1t

someone tells it like it is and the PC brigade get up in arms. About time this "poor discriminated" minority were told a few home truths and the goody two shoe PC brigade had their blinkers removed for once.
