Good Aluminum Frame Sets

Is it possible to get aluminum framesets that would compete with carbon framesets in terms of weight and features? For example you dont see aluminium framesets with internal cable routing often.

For mechanical shifting and roadside maintenance external routing is your friend

Easier to change cables (which you need to do routinely with mechanical) and bowden cables don't like the more extreme bend radius that you tend to get inside a frame.

Lapierre Audacios have pretty much the exactly same frame geometry and design as their carbon Sensium range, except in aluminium. Very tidy filed welds and internal routing, quite pretty bikes really.

Boo Canyons. The roadlites look horrible - massive 1.25" steerer headtubes and massive downtubes paired with tiny forks. Euucchh. Ultimates do seem less ugly though.

The Specialized Allez E5 frames have been getting rave reviews, even though Specialized and their marketing department are trying to alienate themselves from the bike world.

The CAAD 10.

I have been riding one for two and a half years. I like it very much. I had a carbon fibre frame bike before (the SuperSix), but decided to keep the CAAD 10 at the end.
It is not just handling and comfort that is impressive, but the weight of the frame as well (or the lack of it).

I've that with ultegra as you know.
Very nice ride, in fact it's so nice I wish I'd forked out the extra few hundred and got chorus on it.

Also I like canyon fir looks and price but rose offer more customisation of components and with canyon you'll always be limited to ritchey stems
