Mavic Cosmic Elite - 10speed hub - are these worth getting as my 2nd wheels ?

And what would be good price for these ? They're new but I'm thinking of buying them from someone and not from the shop. Cheers.

i have a set, they're grand imo.. a bit heavy compared to other wheelsets but tough and hard-wearing which is what i was looking for being a heavier rider of 90kg, the eastons i previously had fell to pieces quickly enough. whatever about the aero properities, they make a nice sound and look pretty sweet. read on another thread here that some website was doing a great deal on em recently.

Reckon they're the worst of the mavic range as regards to price/performance ratio at RRP. Not light enough to warrant their price, and not quite deep enough to get any aero benefit apart from worse steering in sidewinds. Aksiums are lighter and half the RRP price of Cosmic Elites if you wanted a second wheelset. You can get them for about 150-160e new. Probably stronger and a little bit stiffer vertically though due to their slightly deeper section (whether thats a benefit depends on your weight), but not enough to matter when they're twice as expensive.
