do I need a box ?

    This is probably a stupid question but I recently bought a sorview approved digital TV do I need to get a box or will the tv be able to do the job of the box ?

    No the tv will have a built in digital tv tuner for Saorview, no need of a box. :)
    You will of course need an aerial (on the roof or in an attic) plugged into the back of it.

    No such thing as a digital tuner. The set will have a digital decoder.,

    Yea thanks, I know that. Just trying to make it easier to understand for OP. (Most people have heard of tuners in tv sets, decoders is something new.)

    Nope, analogue TV needed a decoder every bit as much as digital.

    Nope, analogue TV needed a decoder every bit as much as digital.

    Only for Nicam & Teletext, which are actually digital signals in the Analogue channel. Analogue Vision and Sound uses demodulators.
