Dun Laoghaire Golf Club - Reduced Membership Rates?

    Hi all,

A pal told me that Dun Laoghaire Golf Club are running a special offer circa €1,800 which is significantly lower than the currently published deal of no entrance fee but an annual subscription of €2,775 (including a Bar & Food credit of €500).

I have a feeling this is some sort of restricted over 65 or similar type deal or just a complete unfounded rumour but if there is any truth to it I'd be seriously tempted as I'm currently paying circa €1,400 elsewhere and Dun Laoghaire GC would be a good step up in terms of quality of course and facilities etc.

Can anyone confirm if there are some special deals on offer there at the moment?

Well, if you had gone to their site directly you would have seen that they have a six day membership for 1803 euro plus 400 bar levy.

    Very expensive.
This crew must have loads of money.
    In their bank account.
    With the interest growing.
    Day by day.

I had and I'm not interested in part time membership. I predominantly play at weekends. Apologies if that wasn't clear for you.

    bad day was it??
OP where are a member at the moment?,I know a few lads up in DL.
Course is nice, facilities are magic but playing up there every week with that poxy wind coming down the hill will do your head in after a while.
Also,it gets very cold aswell as soon as we hit the Autumn. The greenkeepers are good but they're very strict in the winter re only opening the course when the green temp comes up to the right temp, this can result is forgetting about early morning golf in the cold months.

Apologies OP, it's just that it must have taken you longer to type the question than go directly to the site. Well, it certainly would for me with my two finger typing. :D

No worries at all d2ww, I should have mentioned that it was full seven day membership I was interested in.

Only saw this post now. Yes there is full membership available in Dun Laoghaire for the price quoted €2,775 which includes Bar and Restaurant €500. The entrance fee of €16,000 is still there but you avoid that by paying the extra €500 pa that is included in the €2,775.

The 5 day over age 63 is almost full at this stage.

If you need any more info or an application form, give the office a call at 2721866

Powerscourt G.C. - is worth looking into as it's just up the road

Thanks Alderman, I've played both Powerscourt courses and have to say they are very good. Do you know what sort of seven day deals they are doing at the moment? I'm currently paying €1,400 including GUI and bar levy so I'd consider paying a premium over that for Powerscourt all right but couldn't justify more than €1,800.
