LPG Conversion: Systems & Prices

    Hiya.

I have been scanning the www for information about LPG conversions in Dublin. It seems that conversion prices are way lower here (under €1000)than for example in Germany, Poland, France etc.

Most of those conversion centers are owned by Polish or Lithuanian fellows.
Now I am just wondering how are they able to convert a 4 cylinder engine to LPG for around €700/800 (all inclusive) when prices in Poland are at least around €1200 + and in Germany €1800 + ?

Is there such a difference in those systems re quality, reliablity etc (e.g. PRINS, KME, Romano etc)?

    Thanks.

Hi, you are wrong, conversion prices were always extremely high in Ireland. Last days you can find some places where prices goes down.

Let me explain you on example, it's very simply.
Car: VW Golf 2006 4 cylinder or different but not brand new.
    1. Polish guy buys complete installation including tank in Poland and spends €500-600. (cost for German or Italian with all certs you need)
    2. Next step - fitting, takes approx 2 days so labour is aroud €200
    3. This gives €700-800
    4. He earns €200 in two days so he's happy.

Modern cars are more expensive, of course.
LPG is very popular in whole Europe but not in Ireland, anyone explain me why?

A Stag 300 conversion for a 4 pot 6 pot is €650 incl. labour in Poland, so it's cheaper than here. What are you on about?

I have no clue what the prices in Poland are at the moment, but I got my 1.6 Bravo converted in 2005. (II-generation conversion, so no injectors, just direct LPG feed into air intake with mixer and stepper engine controlled by LPG ECU) and it cost me about €450. It was BRC JUST conversion, so rather more expensive equipment. It could have been done cheaper.
