    Taken from Wrestlezone.

    WWE Smackdown
    April 11, 2014 – Lafayette, Louisiana

-John Cena kicked off Smackdown and announced that we are in a new era following WrestleMania XXX, and talked about Daniel Bryan, Cesaro and The Shield winning their matches. He calls himself the "measuring stick" and "standard bearer", and reiterates that anyone who wants to make a name for themselves in the WWE now has to go directly through him. The Wyatt Family cut a promo backstage, with Bray Wyatt saying that he'll have to go to "new extremes" to pull the monster out of John Cena. Not-so-subtle hint for next month's PPV.

    (1) Cesaro def. Big Show via disqualification. Cesaro worked as a heel through the match, with Paul Heyman at ringside. Prior to the match, Heyman came out and talked up Cesaro and Brock Lesnar. The crowd was pretty split on how to handle Cesaro, as they should be. The match ended with Jack Swagger attacking Cesaro and putting him in the Patriot Lock. Cesaro still managed to hit Big Show with The Neutralizer.

    (2) Ryback & Curtis Axel def. Los Matadores

    (3) Rob Van Dam def. Damien Sandow in a rematch from this week's Raw.

-Hulk Hogan came down to a great reaction and talked about being the guest host of WrestleMania XXX. He calls out Daniel bryan, who comes down and talks about idolizing Hogan as a kid. Bryan demands Hogan's music be played, and the two start a massive "YES!" chant together.

    (4) Bad News Barrett def. Kofi Kingston. Barrett got some love from the crowd, but not the reaction he got on Raw. Seems the UK fans have all gone home.

    (5) Fandango (w/ Layla) def. Santino (w/ Emma). As we reported, Fandango ditched Summer Rae on Twitter this week to separate the Total Divas star.

    (6) The Usos & Daniel Bryan vs. Kane, Batista & Randy Orton ended in a double count-out. One of the Usos played the whipping boy for most of the match, and it all ended with the babyfaces doing dives to the outside. Everyone got counted out.

-Orton and Batista beat down The Usos, and Kane was setting up to attack Daniel Bryan, but The Shield came down and made the save. Bryan leveled Kane with a running knee strike, and all the babyfaces celebrated to end the Smackdown taping.

Glad the Cena/Bray feud is continuing, plenty of mileage left in that.

Does Ambrose still have the US title?

I dunno about that. Ideally they'd have done it giving Bray the win at Elimination Chamber before Cena shows the kids that hustle, loyalty and respect always wins out in the end at mania. That was what happened at Mania so why go back to it now?

I think he dropped it while on the way through the crowd on Raw and forgot to pick it up. Guess it's been retired.

Layla seems to be Summer Rae's replacement. Fandango must have done something good a past life to be paired with the beautiful Maxine, Summer Rae & Layla:

Yep, he had it with him on Main Event which is filmed before Superstars. Has anyone heard whether Ambrose was legit hurt or just selling a rib injury?

Layla might end up being on upgrade on Summer Rae for Fandango. They have chemistry off the bat:

Enjoyable show. Serious Rick Rude and Paul Heyman vibes of Antonio Cesaro and Paul Heyman.

And well this is pretty surreal:

And the commentary team continue to make light of Bryan's appearance saying that him and Hulk is like muscle and fitness meeting National Geographic while JBL again calls Bryan a farm animal. Bryan is in great shape and describing the champion like this isn't funny but completely counterproductive.

And totally unworthy of being in the ring with Hulk Hogan both in terms career and physical stature. Some really odd comments during that segment hopefully not fed by Vince in the headset indicating a harbinger of how he will be booked as Champion.

If they keep burying Bryan on commentary like that then people will tune out .

It won't be long before he drops the title.

A lot of the IWC will be pining for the days when he was chasing the strap. Wait and see.

Fans will **** over the next Champion ESPECIALLY if it is a babyface that holds the belt(s).

But yeah as I've said before there isn't much depth to Daniel Bryan besides a diminutive, screwed over guy. In films the credits normally would roll after he wins the title at Wrestlemania but this is Wrestling.

Even Ziggler, Reigns, Rollins, Ambrose, Sami Zayn or another one of their darlings? :D:D

Highly unlikely a babyface will win it from him.

I'd be shocked if Bryan holds it for more than 2/3 PPV's. Even when he came out on Smackdown I had the slight sense of "Ugh, I much preferred him 7 days ago".

The only thing in Danielson's favour is that low future PPV buys won't be blamed on him for now, that'll be blamed on Network subs.

Much like the streak, Lesnar is the best choice to end Bryan's title reign because he wont suffer from any negative reaction.

When did Ambrose last defend the US title, is the 30 days rule gone?

It's more that its one of those rules that only comes into effect if and when it either fits in with a storyline or managements need to strip someone of the title in my opinion.

March 11 on Main Event if this site is correct.

They badly need to have him drop it to someone due to Shenanigans from Evolution/Authority or whatever the feck they're calling themselves.
