I require a good bit of dental work I just want to ask what dental insurance people have found good or if there are other options out there. Dental care seems expensive in Ireland, I have looked at prices and I don't think I could afford them... has anyone traveled abroad? Thanks

Without even going to a dentist I no I need a tooth removed, caps on a few teeth, a filling replaced or could be root canal on two teeth.

This is your problem right here. Insurance is for what may happen. If you are aware of the need for the treatment in advance of getting the insurance then you are essentially committing insurance fraud....

Dental insurance is designed to pay out the minimum for people who need a lot of treatment. Its a business, if you pay 300 euro premium and need 3000 euro of treatment the insurance company is not going to just pay out. They have many many rules and regulations about what is covered, when its covered, and what percentage is covered. its not some magic way to have your dental treatment paid for.

In the US where dental insurance is a real viable system, premiums run to thousands of dollars a year.
