    http://cars.donedeal.ie/cars-for-sale/ford-mondeo-zetec-tdci-163bhp/6461500

This has more power for the same price as the above.

Mine is a 2010 zetec and the centre console looks totally different. The climate controls are more like the image below
    BlobServer?blobtable=MungoBlobs&blobcol=urldata&blobwhere=1214375528267&blobkey=id

Those consoles are more reminisent of the lx-spec heating controls to my eyes, not zetec spec.

The ones the OP linked too are from the facelifted model so centre console and switches were slightly redesigned.

So are none of them a zetec?

    Yes they are.

They're both Zetec, the facelift changed the interior from this (pre late 2010):

    To this (late 2010 on)

Sorry, I can't tell if them pics work, every frigging thing is blocked in school

My wife has a titinaium X mondeo of these absolutely beautiful car to drive. But be ware unless you are doing regular 50 plus miles per trip at a reasonable RPM the DPF has a history of giving you bother, driving stop start or at slow pace doesnt regenerate the filter and can me a nightmare cost wise if the DPF goes.

The cars linked are UK imports, unless you are trading in OP, I would suggest you could save a lot of money by going to the UK yourself

    Probably trading in unfortunately.

Went to see this today, fine machine. Might be back next week to put down a deposit. It's a uk import.
Any idea what the manufacturer's warranty on a 2012 Ford mondeo?

There is a 5 year warranty on them from new. Now, I'm not sure if there would be any differences/implications with it being an import, if anything goes wrong and you think the warranty should cover it.

Hope it all works out well for you :)
The warranty should cover you but to be on the safe side maybe ask the dealer to provide confirmation that it's got 3 more years of warranty left.

Lads, quick question. Coming from a lowly saloon megane diesel to the mondeo, would there be much difference between the 140 or 163bhp?
Fuel efficiency, reliability between the two, how would they compare?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,887 ✭✭✭✭bear1

The 140 Mondeo averages a combined cycle of 53.3mpg and has 320NM of torque - takes 9,5s to 100 - top speed of 130mph
The 163 Mondeo averages a combined cycle of 53.3mpg and has 340NM of torque - takes 8,9s to 100 - top speed of 137mph

To me the cars are almost identical, differences being that the 163 is 7mph quicker, 0,6s quicker to 100 and has 20NM of torque more.
I got these stats from here:

    http://www.helpfindmea.co.uk/cars/specs/ford-mondeo-specifications-343/mondeo-diesel-hatchback-10-20-tdci-140-zetec-5dr-specifications-49006.aspx
