Paint stripping

Evening gents just looking a little advice.

So I'm looking to strip quite a few layers of old stubborn paint off a very old panel window surround. I've used nitromorse (sp) and it takes all the layers off except the final two. If I put fresh stuff on I can get it off but it goes funny. Kinda gooey. This is fine but the panels have detailing that I don't want to destroy with my wire brush. So any ideas of how I could do this easily or am I just gona have to scrub it and hope I don't destroy anything?
    Thanks for any help guys.

    Marty

Use 000 or 0000 wire wool with the nitromores

It can help to cover the treated area with cling film to allow the paint stripper to act and prevents the solvents from evaporating.
