Right, sorry to bore everyone with a long story but here it goes i think its all vital. My mother and father split up, when i say father he was my step father. So no legal obligation on to me, but my mother left the family home with me and my younger brothers about 3 years ago on rent allowance. I lived with her for a while but just decided to move back down to the family home again for study reasons etc, good to mention at this point im a 21 year old student in 3rd year of a 4 year course with a partime job. Now as of late my step father bought my mother out of the family home, so he is now the owner, but he is selling the house now so this leaves me stuck. I dont want to move in with him as hes moving to a new area which is far away from where im based etc, and cant move back in with my mam as she has told the welfare offices I have moved out etc and doesnt claim money for me, so i cant move back in there nor do i want to!! I do have a partime jon but doesnt pay alot, so noway I could afford anywhere on just that!! what are my options?? I dont want to take state money but i dont have a choice in this case, and as soon as i graduate (fingers crossed) I can hopefully get a job allowing me to have more financial freedom! Im really confused as to what I can do, as you cant get rent allowance if in full time education!

    ANY help is greatly apreciated!

so sorry re such an unsettling situation

you need to go to a citizens information office; they are in every town.

take all your documentation with you

or go straight to the local CWO; they have the ability to help andadvise...citizens info will guide you to them also

    good luck

That is an awful situation:( your mother will not let you move home because she can not claim social welfare for you?
If the CWO can not help you then talk to your college they may have a student assistance fund that can help you through your final year and apply for a grant too.
    Good Luck.

Of course you can move back in Op if you want to. You just need to tell the SW that you have moved back in!

^^ This. If it's a local authority house then your mums payment will be increased but you can pay the difference in this increase.
