    Hey guys,
I have been living in Ireland for abouts 7 years. I am originally Belgian
In three weeks time i will be without a job for the first time.
I know i should register for the DOLL as i will be without pay and job.
But i have no clue where to go. I live in Clontarf Dublin and i know that i should go and pick up my DOLL via the post office.
But how do i start the whole proces? Friday 25 will be my last day.
Is there anything i can do in advance?

    Many thanks in advance

You need to go to your nearest social welfare office with your pps number and inform them, then ask them what they need from you, it may differ since you are Belgian, but I am sure if you have worked here 7 years legally you should be entitled to dole....

    Sorry to hear this FuzzyCraic.

Is this a large-scale, planned redundancy? What support is your company offering e.g. Outplacement, career counselling, CV writing, interview skills etc? If they're a large company, they should be offering these services to you. They should also be giving you time off NOW for interviews.

I suggest you contact HR ASAP and explain to them that you will need support etc and to ascertain what outplacement support they're offering.

    Best of luck!

Ok you are more then likely entitled to Jobseekers Benefit €188 per week.
you need to present your self at your local social welfare office on the first day that you are unemployed and tell them that you are looking for and available for work.
you will need proof of ID and proof of your address.
if you receive a redundancy you need to bring them proof of this too.
    Also your P45.
