Hi guys. There's a good chance I'll end up here as the course I've chosen seems perfect.... but I'm not sure about the college campus and the area around it. I wasn't blown away by the campus to be honest but what do current students think of college life at DCU?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

Im not living on campus but know a good few that do and love it, Theres basically everything you could need on campus, close to the city for nights out whatever,

    Whats putting you off it?

I wasn't there long enough to form a good impression but when I was there there wasn't too many students around so it seemed kind of deserted to me... so maybe that's tainting my view. I've heard it's amazing and I don't doubt that it is.

It is a few years since i experienced DCU campus life, there is positives and negatives as with everywhere, and the more you put in the more you get out. One thing which i hope has changed but was rife when i was there, was that people stick together depending on what subject/course you do, but in many other institutions this is also the case
The Campus is nice, and albert college park beside it is a wonderful resource
I found if you commute a long way often you are left out of the loop a bit, but get involved in things, in sports, in clubs, in activities.
If you are moving to dublin stay close by in Drumcondra, Santry, Whitehall, Phibsboro, Glasnevin walk or cycle able - I had a friend who stayed in Rathmines and kinda felt left out of things as a result
