Nexus Charger

Got a Nexus charger from the play store a few days ago. Today I noticed it wasn't charging my Nexus 5 as well as it had previously and the phone doesn't recognise it as readily. Looking at it there seems to be three seperate areas of marks forming on it. They definitely weren't there when I got it but with it not charging…

You can see them in the corners in the above photo. I've stopped using it in the meantime as it's also gotten quite hot. Anyone experience anything similar?
