Hi, apologies if this is placed incorrectly.

My laptop is giving the above error when I try to connect. I have looked on Google for help. I find it difficult to understand the advise as it is written in technical terms. There is also suggestions to download new drivers. How can this be done if the WiFi is not working?

    Any help appreciated

Could be your modem/router just not assigning your laptop an IP, in this case just try a reboot of the router,

Other things you can try on the laptop, are to request an new ip,
so hit the start button and type CMD, run it,

in the command window, try the following
    ipconfig /release

    ipconfig /renew
