According to the MED 1 form, you can not claim tax relief on Routine dental treatment which is defined as “the extraction, scaling and filling of teeth and the provision and repair of artificial teeth and dentures”.

I don't know, but I would think getting a cavity filled is a necessary medical treatment, unlike laser surgery on eyes or cosmetic surgery, which seem to be covered for tax relief.

I'm assuming this is a throwback to when our Routine dental costs were covered under PRSI. What is the logic in not allowing routine, yet Required dental treatments?
