I'd be interested too. A few little things need doing on my MX-5.

Same, mainly creases+small bit to do on sills. Maybe a blast of dinitrol to see it through the next winter.

+1. Used them recently. Had a couple of dents on my rear quarter panel and a scratch on the bumper. Flawless job from what I can see. They picked up my car and brought it back to me also which was very handy.

I used to run a irish car detailing site, so I am super fussy. The job is flawless.

Same here, a few teensy weensy, but still very annoying, creases and dents, also the previous owner thought it'd be a great idea to cover over (very badly) a few long-ish scratches on the rear wing with a touch up applicator, which ended up making them look worse than if they'd just left them .

I also have a small patch of corrosion on the underside of the boot lid where the number plate light is. It's a Mk3 MX-5 , so the boot lid is aluminium and I need it doing right, i.e. using the right primer or else it'll just reappear.

Used a few times, cannot speak highly enough of them.

One of the few people I'd trust with my car.

Real shame that quality is slipping. I have recommended them to a number of family and friends. Having sent them at least 3 other customers and my own car with good results, they gave my father the run around for weeks. Offering him no less than 5 dates and then cancelling. Eventually he got pissed off (he is in his 70's and cant be dealing with that sort of customer service) and went elsewhere.

Seems they have man power issues or something.

the nature of business unfortunately , get a good name , business grows , then you need to find more employees, if decent bodywork tech's were in good supply we wouldn't even have threads on it. Its a very hard art to get right.

looking at that bmwhaus thread, at least they took the car back 3 times and made significant (but still unacceptable) improvements. the customer service is obviously still there.

more importantly for OP and others sake, does anybody know a really good body shop in south dublin that we could direct people to instead, until issues are resolved.

I never ended up using them but did pop over to them last year to enquire about the work I wanted done on the MX5.

Although they were getting thumbs up at the time and the fella there seemed a nice guy, he suggested the work would be €400 and would involve no welding. That's when I simply walked away.

That said I can't make further judgement on them as I never ended up using them but it put me right off from the get-go.

That's terrible! I used them about a year ago for the job I described in my post above, respraying the inside of the boot lid of my MX-5. It went OK in the end, and a year later the corrosion has not reappeared, but the finish of the first attempt was strange, very rough, and they claimed it was because they'd used a 'matte' clear coat on it, which I didn't entirely believe. They took it back and applied a gloss clear coat over the top and it now looks good, but as it's just the interior of the boot lid, they shouldn't have applied the first clear coat in the first place (if in fact they did) and we'd have saved a lot of hassle bringing it back. Personally I think the original rough finish was just down to bad spray work, and given how much it cost me I'm not entirely sure I'd trust them again with anything bigger.
