Hi Im thinking of going to Germany Either Munich or Hamburg can someone ive me some advice i was in berlin so just want to see different part of germany

Haven't been to Munich or Hamburg yet, but I highly recommend Dresden (2 hours on the train from Berlin).

Come here, there's so much to see no matter what you do.

Hamburg is a lovely city, really refined...... and then you have the craziness of st Pauli where the underground has signs to tell you you can't carry a gun!

Munich is lovely with the ornate churches, nice parks and grand palaces and impressive civic buildings, some from the nazi era. Should you want to do day trips to the alps, Austria and the likes then munich is a great base.

But either way you'll not go wrong.

Regarding Dresden, I stayed there for 2 days and did a boat trip to Meissen which is renound for its pottery/ china works. Not sure if you'd fly from Ireland to go there specifically, but if you're pottering about that area (pardon the pun) then there's worse places to visit.

While Hamburg is good, Munich is one of Europe's good spots, IMHO. Plenty to do in Munich and around, depending on your interests, e.g. the Deutsches Museum has more than enough technology for a whole day. Dresden would be fine for 2 or 2 days, Hamburg likewise, Bremen is a good daytrip from there, but Munich would have enough for a longer stay.

Naja, but you can carry it in other parts of the city, just leave it at home if out and about on the Kiez

Munich is a tad expensive in my opinion, accommodation was when we were there anyhow. Both are great cities though, really enjoyed Hamburg, lots to see and do.

Spent a summer in Munich - lovely city, well laid out, easy to navigate, good parks and public transport system, beer halls, kebabs....Bavarian flavour to the place too with many speaking bayrisch (I think that's how you spell it). There's also the old factory ground area called Kunstpark where you have a load of clubs in the one spot. Not sure if it is open every night but went once on a Saturday and was well worth it.
