Help with DSLR - Can't Remove Pictures from Internal Memory

I have a Canon 1100D and the display was damaged a while back. The display isn't cracked but you can't see anything on it. The only way I can describe it is from these pictures.

    images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQ-bd48WLN3KNY0WF16hUvxbW3kQH1icCftPh1oSS6hTiW4yDHIOw

    images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRf2CaP2uRGL_j0Q3U7oRo-ggbNfKY2BBRtp5qbUNCD1Vu_78AotQ

Anyway the camera could still be used on auto mode and I would just move the pictures from my SD card to my laptop. I had a family event at the weekend and my brother used the camera to take some photos but never put in a SD card so the pictures were saved to the internal memory.

I plugged the camera in to my desktop to remove the pictures but it said no files and the same when plugged into laptop. As I can't see the display I don't know what's going on.

I was told that I might need to copy the pictures to the SD card to remove them but I cant see the display to do this and don't want to accidentally remove the pictures.

I am currently in the process of upgrading to the 600D so I wasn't going to bother getting it fixed but I would like suggestions on how to fix it if possible and if cheap.

The pictures are quite important so I would really like to get them off.

Your DSLR doesn't have internal memory, so any shots that were taken haven't been saved. Your camera had "Release shutter without card" option activated.

I don't think the 1100D has any internal memory ? So no photos would have been stored ?

There is no internal memory on the 1100D or any DSLRs that I know of.
The camera will store images whiles it's on, but they don't exist on any memory and once the camera is turned off, they're deleted.

As the others have said, there 1100D doesn't have an internal memory.
If there is no card present then the camera will take a photo (If you have the option "shoot without card" on) but will not save it anywhere even temporarily.
Normally the image will display on the LCD for review for a few second or until another shot is composed/button pressed before disappearing but this is never saved and is straight from the camera's buffer so basically it will allow you to take photos but they will not be saved.

Also if the screen looks like the pictures you posted then it is cracked internally but the protective glass ironically is not. This is quite common occurance when LCDs get cracked.

I run a photographic equipment repair business if you are interested in getting it repaired, PM me.
