Had to recreate thread for some strange reason...

Cheers for the info Drummerboy. Might just go with them... Bloody expensive though...

Decent bit of kit - I use them. GS Yuasa are Japanese, and incorporate the former Exide Battery. They're very well thought-of in the motorcycling world as well.

AFAIK there's a reason they don't stock Bosch anymore:
    http://insideevs.com/mitsubishi-gs-yuasa-and-bosch-form-jv-to-double-capacity-of-ev-lithium-ion-batteries/

    Same factory

190 euros is a bit cheeky though, I recon you could get it from the UK for 100-120 quid sterling.

A-ha. I knew there was summat like that up - the Yuasa Silver range looks identical to the Bosch Silver, only with a different brand-name. Yes, they're a bit costly - the ones I use cost €140 - but they're excellent.

Excellent batteries 5 years warranty is a giver.
Are you sure you need 110ah 900amps?
These are standard specs in bmw e60 m5 for example
You can go with the 100ah model/ 850 amp, costs 139 euros last time I checked and with axa card or professional card it costs 119 euros.
189 euros is along the same price as bosch, varta.

Yuasa are a premium battery and are used as original equipment in all toyotas and BMW are using them now in the 4 series.

My battery rep is expecting to hear that they'll be coming as standard in all bmw's in the near future.

Yeah seen a Bosch for £109 but they are 25kg so shipping might be expensive...

Yuasa are just about the best battery on the market today. Fit and forget. Trade card in Halfords gets as much as 30% discount, axa card discount is now reduced to 10%.

Trade cards are made within minutes over the counter...just saying...like

You don't need to bring your CRO registration/VAT certificate etc...

In fact they only ask for name and address and sign the form

Well, that was the case when I got mine

Some ask for letterhead/business cards etc though...:(

Yep, it's at the manager's discretion. I had mine taken off me in the shop one day (as did the rest of the club, a year or two after Halfords agreed to give us the cards).

Just be sure to order and collect via online....

In store price is often different than online.....

Rowed with the rep about that a couple of months ago as they were destroying us on a couple of prices...

instore (feb) prices were up to 30% dearer in my 2 nearest branches

Give me a GS/Oldham/Koba/Exide/Hoppike over a Yuassa any day.

We had them for a while, the 3 year one did only did 2 in the bravo, was replaced by a varta in late 2010 and is still in it to this day.

Had to replace a Koba in the tractor that lasted 7 years, the yuasa that replaced it did just 3. Now is replaced by a GS hercules, in it a year and am anxious to know if it will last

Having said that, theres an elite version in the van since 2010 and does plenty of hard work (beacons, jump starting, work lighs etc)

I wouldn't bother with them anymore myself

Gs is Yuassa though :p Both very good brands of batteries IMO.

So you had a few bad experiences with them, batteries do go faulty and if left idle they also go bad.

I had one in my car for 12 years, the winter of 09/10 finally killed it off. It was replaced with a Bosch which went faulty after 14 months. Does that mean Bosch are a bad battery, no just that these things sometimes happen. It was replaced with another Bosch and no trouble since.

Sure varta/bosch are made in the same factory too.... I've had plenty of bad batteries, not limited to yuasa, just more of them were yuasa batteries than the others.

It's still a no from me. Having bought 12 of them in a period of 3 - 4 years only 3 really performed well and are still in service to this day. Another 3 year battery I got for an 899 sei lasted just over 2 years, I wasn't impressed to say the least, 2 had to go into my old car over 3 years as further examples.

Reason we kept buying them: they were cheap. Looking back was it either?

Of course batteries go faulty, I got some cheap disaster that lasted 3 days that I got replaced with a Varta black, which also had a very short lifespan too.

For my work here I use a 95ah exide or a 59ah yuasa and swap it amongst the different vehicles, no problems atall. The gs titan in my 406 was sawpped between 3 different cars and is over 2 years old, seems to be holding up well (it gets worked hard at times)

That's my story with them and that can't be changed. Not good for most regardless

Take it or leave it ;)

Give Somora, in parkwest a call. They took over the import from AD Ireland, who went bang last year. Yuasa batteries are OE in loads of cars & bikes.

Have had 2 Yusua's now, used for winch's on jeeps, seriously good battery, putting out 14.1 volts after 2 months of use in a jeep, and holds it for a long time.
