    hi,
    i was wondering if someone could help me .what can you add to deltamethrin (C22H19Br2NO3) other than h2o and h3o and what will you get as a product.

    That is an interesting question... with a molecule with that many functional groups you could perform a huge array of reactions.

    However, the ester is by far the most reactive functional group for most intents and purposes...

    A huge range of nucleophiles will react with esters, carbon nucleophiles such as grignards or lithiates will react to cleave the ester and give a tertiary alcohol. There will however be the possibility of side reactions. The dibromoalkene will possibly undergo a corey-fuchs reaction.

    Alternatively if a non nucleophilic strong base is added, this reaction will probably be preferred generating an alkyne lithiate which would also react with the ester...
