    Hi Guys

    I have a Samsung Wave S8500 running the Bada OS

    Bada is no longer supported. I know there are versions of Android developed for this phone but the "guides" are way too complicated for me.

    An example is this one http://www.tizenus.com/2013/09/aosp-4-3-r3-ls-smook-kernel-s8500-update-22-sep.html

    I need one that is dated at least mid 2013 as the versions of Android for Bada before this is majorly bugged.

    I need an easy to follow guide.

    Wow, i remember reading about that years ago and thought the project was dead!
    I just upgraded to a Moto G and was going to bin my Wave.
    Will certainly give this a spin and report back, have installed Cyanogen on my Moto G and this looks very similar to that so will give feedback in a day or too when I get time to do it.
    Actually looking on XDA developers , there is even Cyanogen 11 ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2661587) for this which I'll probably try out first, heck i might try out a few of the images now that the phone is doing nothing just for the craic.

    Just got home from work and installed Cyanogen 11 in about 30 minutes start to finish, very straightforward compared to the Moto G.
    I followed the guide on http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2661587
    One thing that threw me was how to boot into Android at the end, the last instruction :-

    Reboot holding the Power/End Call key

    This just reboots into Bada, that should read reboot holding the answer call and power on key as on https://github.com/Alberto96/android_bootable_wave-fboot (i initially thought i had used a bad fota file until i read the standard one :-
    FOTA Bootloader Standard Edition:

    Power/End Call => Bada
    Answer Call + Power/End Call => Android SD/NAND Normal Mode
    Volume Up/Lock + Answer Call + Power/End Call => Android SD/NAND Recovery Mode

    Some pic was taking pics on other phone and leather cover case was driving me nuts) :-

    Flashing -

    Reboot

    Cyanogen homescreen -

    Has to be said it feels a bit sluggish so far, and the camera doesnt work.

    There are some other roms out there for it so will probably mess about with them in the next day or two.

    Let me know if you get stuck, i've flashed my share of phones over the years so probably some things were straightforward to me that might not be to someone that didnt do this before.
